The Lab

Based in Southern California, the small independent lab is a full service optical laboratory that utilizes cutting edge equipment, technology and is specialized in customizing and enhancing patient prescriptions. Every prescription lens is digitally compensated to provide next level visual performance. This new lens technology provides superior vision by optimizing and tailoring each prescription greatly enhancing the visual experience.  The effect is 6x more accurate prescription allowing for crisp, clear vision with unmatched depth and clarity along with the widest visual fields throughout the entire lens.  Edge to edge clarity on the lens without any aberration represents a profound difference in how a digitally compensated lens performs versus the limitations of the conventional established way.

The Lens

 Interchangeable Lens:

The frame is designed to securely house the lens and one key feature of the frame is to allow for an effortless lens change depending upon light conditions or specific application.  A single frame with the ability to change the lens without the need for any tools allows for versatility no matter the setting. The size and shape of the lens design is to provide adequate coverage while still maintaining aesthetic proportions.

RX Tinted Lens:

The lens is sourced from Younger Optics, an established leader in the optical industry that developed the world’s most trusted RX polarized lens. The revolutionary lens materials combine superior optics, strength with the lightest weight material in a thin lens design. It is the only Polycarbonate lens with the gradient and the polarized film to be encapsulated within the lens so the dye will not fade with time due to exposure.  The Nupolar Gradient is uniformly polarized across the entire surface of the lens and the gradient appearance makes a bold fashion statement.  Nupolar Gradient VLT ranges from 18% from the top to 43% bottom making the tint versatile for indoor or outdoor use. Nupolar Polarized Gradient lens is available in 3 color choices: gray to light gray, brown to light brown and brown to light gray.

Purposeful Tints

Tints filter light and intensify colors and contrast.  You can leverage your surroundings and manipulate specific color wavelengths by selecting specific tint colors.  This enhances depth perception through an increased color contrast so it’s important to choose the right color for the specific activity.

  • Brown Tints are best for Golf Hunting Archery Hiking Tennis
  • Gray Tints are best for Driving Hiking Fishing and other Ocean activities
  • Polarized tints address glare that is refracting off surfaces effectively reducing eyestrain and allowing for better visual acuity and minimal distortion.

RX Clear Lens:

Trivex vs Polycarbonate

Both lens materials are feather light, thin, block 100% UV light, offer superb vision and are impact resistant making them the safest lens on the market.  Trivex lens is superior to Poly, in terms of optical clarity and weight however. Trivex lens will provide a more crisp and clean sight experience because of its higher Abbe value, a measure of how light is dispersed as it passes through the lens. Trivex lens is also 10% lighter than Polycarbonate.

 The Coatings:

Not all lens treatments are the same as coatings are integral to the performance of the lens.  A  big distinction in the price of a premium pair of glasses versus an ordinary pair are the types of coatings that are applied.  Premium coatings will include scratch resistance, reduce glare, and have both hydrophobic and oleophobic properties that is durable and last up to 2 years. All Orson glasses will include the absolute best Premium AR coatings. The coated lens enhance performance of the lens and will endure the harshest elements without compromise.
